SPEAK UP
Free live workshop for women who keep putting off one hard conversation
Say what you need to say
without spending another week rehearsing it in your head
Bring the conversation you keep avoiding. In one live hour, you’ll learn the Three Speak Up Skills and figure out what’s keeping you stuck.
ONE HOUR | LIVE | THURSDAY, AUGUST 27th AT 11AM PT OR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST AT 2PM PT
“After attending the workshop, I called my ex with confidence and said what I needed to say. He didn't react the way I feared and we made a plan that moved the divorce forward instead of staying stuck. The questions you asked gave me the power to put my fear in perspective. I'm already using the framework for another conversation next week.”
—Karen
“If I'm so smart, why can't I just say it?”
You are capable and good at figuring things out. People rely on you to get shit done, and you do it all day long.
And yet this messy conversation has you waking up at 2 a.m. or rehearsing what to say on your commute like a madwoman.
You know how to do hard things. It's just THIS hard conversation that's got you stumped.
So you start trying to figure out how to make the conversation feel safer.
You wonder if you're overreacting. You run it by someone else. You wait for them to be in the right mood. You try to predict how they'll respond and how you'll handle it.
Meanwhile, time passes and nothing gets addressed. And sometimes, the very thing you're trying not to make worse gets worse anyway.
Your brain has been working this case for weeks, but it still feels like a mystery.
Solving the mystery of why this feels so hard comes down to three skills.
In this free live workshop, I'll teach you the three skills that need to be in place for you to speak up honestly when something feels risky.
THE THREE SPEAK UP SKILLS
There are three places where hard conversations tend to get stuck.
Where are you getting tripped up?
1. STOP DEBATING IT
Do you spend more time deciding whether you're justified in bringing something up than actually saying it?
Learn what needs to change so “this isn't working for me” can be reason enough to speak up.
Do you know what you want to say, but edit, soften, overexplain, freeze, or wait until you're so frustrated that resentment does the talking for you?
Learn what needs to change so you can say what you actually mean without burning endless hours figuring out the “right” words or waiting for the “perfect moment.”
2. SAY WHAT YOU MEAN
3. TRUST YOURSELF WITH WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Do you spend hours trying to predict or manage how the other person will respond?
Learn what needs to change so you can speak honestly, take care of the relationship, and trust yourself to handle whatever happens next.
You may recognize that you need to work on all three - or that different skills trip you up in different relationships.
Show up with one hard conversation. Leave knowing why you’re stuck and what needs to change.
“Thanks for your workshop and help with my coworker. The next time I saw her I said “I need to address your behavior. It's not okay with me that you treat me that way.” I was super nervous, but I said it! And, she stopped!”
— Janine
“Because of your coaching I was able to talk to my step-sister about the financial costs of our mom’s care and it went so much better than I imagined. Thank you!”
— Nancy
“I learned more in this workshop than I have in a year of therapy. My husband and I are becoming empty nesters, and I've worried we've lost our connection. I've ruminated about how to reconnect for six months. Now I know how to start that conversation.”
— Jessica
8 years. Thousands of hard conversations.
One focus:
Helping women speak up for what they want.
The women I love working with most are smart and capable, used to being the ones who figure things out and take care of everyone else. They want relationships where they can say what they need, ask for what they want, and be supported as much as they support others. And they’re DONE wasting their lives overthinking and ruminating. They’re ready to change - they just need someone to point the way and walk alongside them.
That's the work I've spent the last eight years helping women do.
I've coached women through thousands of difficult conversations with husbands, parents, grown children, friends, bosses, and employees.
And I know this problem from the inside too.
I sometimes joke that I was a 43-year-old woman still going to church because I was terrified to tell my parents it didn’t work for me anymore.
But it wasn't a joke.
I knew what I wanted. I knew what I wanted to say. But I believed telling them the truth would, at best, disappoint them and, at worst, break their hearts.
It cost me years of time and so much energy. But I finally had the conversations I needed to have. That opened up a kind of freedom that has been a revolution for me and helped me create a life more connected and beautiful than I thought possible.
I want the same thing for you.
